Wall Street Races to Lift Nvidia Price Targets Ahead of Earnings

A slew of Wall Street analysts covering Nvidia Corp. are boosting their expectations for the chipmaker’s stock ahead of its quarterly earnings release due Aug. 27.

At least nine analysts have lifted their 12-month price targets on the company this week alone, raising the average price by 3% to nearly $194, the highest on record. The level implies more than 10% upside from where shares traded at Wednesday’s close, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

France issued amber warnings for thunderstorms and floods in several southern regions, forcing the Mediterranean department of Bouches-du-Rhône to delay the start of the new school year by a day.

Several departments in the central and southern parts of the country were put on alert for bad weather on Sunday and Monday, according to forecaster Meteo France. Violent thunderstorms, accompanied by torrential rain, are expected to persist until Monday, with rainfall reaching as much as 150 millimeters per hour.

Xi Made Four Suggestions to Deepen India Ties, Misri Says

Chinese President Xi Jinping, in his bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, made four suggestions to deepen ties between the two countries, a top Indian official said.

Xi called for stronger “strategic communication” and deepening mutual trust, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri told reporters in Tianjin, China where the two leaders met on the sidelines of a regional security and economic summit. Xi also called for expanding cooperation to “achieve mutual benefits and win-win results,” to accommodate each others concerns, and to “strengthen multilateral cooperation to safeguard common interests,” Misri said.

Australian Home Prices Climb for Seventh Month After Rate Cuts

Australian home prices advanced for a seventh straight month, fueled by lower borrowing costs and a supply shortfall in major cities.

The Home Value Index rose 0.7% in August, property consultancy Cotality said in a statement on Monday. Brisbane’s 1.2% increase was the top monthly gain while bellwether Sydney climbed 0.8%.
