“PM seems to have forgotten Manipur but has time to travel around world”: RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari

Patna (Bihar) [India], November 18 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Mrityunjay Tiwari on Monday slammed the Central government over Manipur violence and said that the people of the state deserve justice and the Prime Minister seems to have forgotten about Manipur but has time to travel around the entire world.
Speaking to ANI, Tiwari said, “The way the Central Government has behaved, it seems as if the Prime Minister doesn’t even remember Manipur. Over there, even the Chief Minister and all the ministers feel unsafe. In such a situation, if they withdraw their support, it’s justified. That government should be dismissed. Why hasn’t the President’s Rule been imposed there yet? If it’s a “double-engine government,” then why are there questions being raised about law and order? If such incidents had occurred in other states, the BJP would have spent the entire day preaching about it.”
He further highlighted that the situation in Manipur has not been brought under control for a long time.
“Questions are being raised about the government. The people of Manipur deserve justice, no matter which government is in power. The Central Government has a direct responsibility. The Prime Minister seems to forget about Manipur but has time to travel around the entire world,” the RJD leader said.
Meanwhile, the Manipur police on Sunday imposed a curfew in both districts of Imphal following the killings of six people. The administration also suspended internet in seven districts of the State.

The authorities have imposed a curfew in Imphal West and Imphal East in light of the recent tense situation here.
Notably, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over a probe into three cases linked to violence against civilians that have disrupted the public order in Manipur.
The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has expressed deep concern over the ongoing unrest in Manipur, which has led to the loss of six lives, widespread displacement of communities, and the destruction of ancestral properties.
The NPCC urged the Union government to take immediate and decisive actions to restore law and order. The committe also appealed to the people of Manipur to refrain from violence and work collectively towards unity and peace.
Manipur police officials have arrested 23 individuals who were part of the mob involved in the alleged “ransacking and arson of the houses,” said Manipur Police on Sunday. These individuals were arrested from Imphal East, Imphal West, and Bishnupur districts of the state. Additionally, the police officials have recovered one .32 pistol, seven rounds of SBBL, and eight mobile phones from their possession, the police said.
Violence erupted in Manipur on May 3 last year following clashes during a rally organised by the All Tribals Students Union (ATSU) to protest against the demand for the inclusion of the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribe category. (ANI)

Thales signs maintenance contract with IndiGo

Thales and IndiGo, India’s largest airline, have signed a strategic maintenance contract for the airline’s current fleet of 430 Airbus A320 aircraft and future order of over 800 A32X aircraft.

As part of this 11-year contract, Thales will provide IndiGo with expert repair services for avionics components, coupled with Thales’s ‘Avionics-By-The-Hour’ (ABTH) programme – a comprehensive spares management solution that ensures the availability of critical components to minimise aircraft downtime. This, together with Thales’s ‘Repair-By-The-Hour’ (RBTH), guarantees timely maintenance for avionics, allowing IndiGo to increase the availability of its fleet and expedite repairs.

Repairs will be managed notably at Thales’s new state-of-the-art avionics MRO facility in Gurugram, India, located near the Delhi airport, which is designed to handle the increasing demand for avionics support, featuring advanced technology to streamline repair processes and ensure high levels of fleet availability. Thales’s skilled technicians specialise in maintaining complex avionics systems with repairs that meet stringent safety and regulatory standards.

IndiGo has also extended a 5-year contract with AvioBook, a Thales company, for AvioBook Flight —the only Electronic Flight Bag solution currently authorised for paperless operations by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). In use across the entire IndiGo fleet for over a year, AvioBook Flight has already helped significantly reduce consumption of paper usage annually thereby advancing environmental sustainability goals and streamlining flight operations on over 2,000 flights every day.
