OYO parent Oravel Stays rebrands as PRISM globally

Published

on

Oravel Stays Ltd, the parent company of OYO, has officially rebranded itself as PRISM to better reflect its global expansion and premium hospitality ambitions. The announcement marks a pivotal stage for the group as it prepares for a renewed IPO attempt later this year. Despite the corporate identity change, OYO will remain its flagship consumer-facing brand in the budget hospitality space.

The name PRISM was selected through a worldwide naming competition, which drew more than 6,000 submissions. The company explained that PRISM represents diversity, transparency, and a wider spectrum of services, aligning with its vision of evolving into a full-scale global travel and hospitality leader.

Founded in 2012 by Ritesh Agarwal, OYO began as a budget hotel aggregator in India. Over the years, it has transformed into a multi-brand travel-tech platform, now operating in over 35 countries and serving more than 100 million customers worldwide. Its portfolio covers hotels, vacation homes, extended stays, co-working hubs, and event spaces.

The rebrand highlights OYO’s growing presence in the premium segment. Under PRISM, brands such as Sunday, Palette, and Townhouse will strengthen upscale offerings, while Belvilla and DanCenter continue to focus on vacation rentals. Studio 6 caters to extended stays, and Innov8 along with Weddingz.in address workspace and celebration needs.

In 2023, OYO made a major international leap by acquiring US-based G6 Hospitality, operator of Motel 6 and Studio 6, significantly boosting its presence in North America. This acquisition reinforced its ambitions to diversify beyond budget accommodation and tap into higher-value markets across the globe.

With the shift to PRISM, the company aims to signal a future-driven identity that resonates with both investors and customers. As it gears up for its upcoming IPO, PRISM will balance OYO’s strong legacy in affordable stays with a broader vision of innovation, premium service, and global hospitality leadership.

Hyatt has opened its first Me and All “lifestyle” property in Berlin as part of a wider European expansion across the US hotel firm’s brands.

The debut of Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side comes after Hyatt acquired the Germany-based Me and All Hotels brand from Lindner Hotels in 2024.

The brand’s first Berlin property in the Friedrichshain district of the city offers 227 rooms, alongside co-working and social spaces, a bar and fitness centre.

Michel Morauw, Hyatt’s managing director for Northern Europe, Hyatt, said the new Berlin hotel was a “key milestone” in expanding across Europe.

“This hotel is a true reflection of the essence of the Me and All Hotel brand, allowing guests to authentically feel the pulse of the neighbourhood,” added Morauw.

Me and All Hotels, which was established by Lindner in 2016, has six existing properties in Germany in cities such as Düsseldorf, Mainz and Hanover, as well as Me and All Hotel Flims in Switzerland, which opened in late 2024 as the brand’s first hotel outside Germany.
