ECB’s Kazimir Appeals Bribery Conviction at Slovak Supreme Court

European Central Bank Governing Council member Peter Kazimir, who was convicted of bribery in May, filed an appeal that will be examined by Slovakia’s Supreme Court.

Kazimir, who heads the eastern European country’s central bank, was found guilty of offering a €48,000 ($55,608) bribe to a senior tax official to expedite VAT refunds for six companies. He maintains his innocence.
