EU Seeks to Close Off Russian Gas Flow Loopholes

European Union countries are looking to plug any remaining loopholes to ensure that Russian gas won’t be furtively mixed into the bloc’s supplies once a ban takes effect by the end of 2027. Changes proposed by Denmark would require importers to provide national authorities with evidence to prove that the gas hasn’t been produced in Russia, according to a document seen by Bloomberg. France Remains Attractive to Investors, Goldman Says

Goldman Sachs Paris Co-Head Celine-Marie Mechain says France remains “an attractive investment area” despite ongoing political turmoil ahead of the Sept. 8 no-confidence vote called by Prime Minister Francois Bayrou. Domestic stocks have “reacted well” to the uncertainty, Mechain tells Bloomberg Television. “We also see a pickup in activity, you know, in the M&A market,” she adds.
