CoreWeave to Buy Core Scientific for $9 Billion
CoreWeave is buying Core Scientific for $9 billion in an all-stock deal. It’s expected to close in the fourth quarter. In buying Core Scientific in an all-stock deal, CoreWeave will inherit more than a gigawatt of data-center capacity across the US — much of which is already contracted out to serve its clients in training, deploying and using AI models. US Warns of Blackout Risk From Killing Coal as Trump Snubs Renewables
Blackouts in the US could double by 2030 amid an expected increase in power demand brought on by AI, according to a Trump administration report that blames the expected energy shortfall on the closures of coal and natural gas power plants and overreliance on renewable energy.
