Lollapalooza India 2026: Linkin Park, Playboi Carti, YUNGBLUD Lead The Lineup — Here’s Your Complete Travel And Mumbai Experience Guide | Travel

Linkin Park, Playboi Carti, and YUNGBLUD Headline Lollapalooza India 2026 — Here’s How to Combine Festival Fun With Exploring Mumbai’s Iconic Landmarks and Hidden Gems
As someone who loves music, a few experiences make my heart race quite like the thought of being at a concert. Lollapalooza India is one such event. For years, I circled the dates on my calendar, refreshed lineup announcements endlessly, and memorised every lyric, riff, and chord of my favourite bands, picturing the day I would finally stand in front of them in person. So, when the announcement dropped that Linkin Park, the band that soundtracked my teenage years, would headline Lollapalooza India 2026, I could barely believe it. In an instant, I was back in my bedroom, headphones clamped tight, chanting along to In the End, Numb, and Crawling as if they were gospel. This time, I’ll be listening to my favourite band in Mumbai.
My First Mumbai Adventure
This trip is more than a music pilgrimage—it’s also about the city, its chaos, culture, and nostalgia. My first visit to Mumbai was born of curiosity. Bollywood had always fascinated me, and I needed to see its glittering heart for myself. Naturally, I began at Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Bandra home. The street outside throbbed with fans, cameras ready, each hoping for a fleeting glimpse of the superstar. My luck ran out that day, but a few months later fate rewarded me—I saw him at a press event. That brief encounter made Mumbai feel just a little more magical.
Bollywood Dreams Come Alive
I wasn’t done chasing Bollywood landmarks. Next stop: Galaxy Apartments, Salman Khan’s fortress-like home, gleaming in the sunshine. From there, I wandered through Juhu, pointing out Vidya Balan’s home, and detouring past the houses of Shatrughan Sinha and Anil Kapoor. More recently, I found myself standing outside Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s residence, freshly in the news. Each stop felt like flipping through a living scrapbook of cinema—each façade another fragment of Bollywood’s larger-than-life story.
Exploring Mumbai’s Arts & Markets
Once my film-fan curiosity was over, Mumbai’s cultural side pulled me in. If you’ve seen Mumbai, even in pictures, you would know that the city is a gallery in itself, with art shows tucked into courtyards and colonial-era buildings. Kala Ghoda and Colaba became my favourite spots. Then came the shopping—because in Mumbai, you can’t escape it. Linking Road and Colaba Causeway are a maze of souvenirs, quirky trinkets, artisanal gems, and high-street fashion, each turn throwing up something unexpected.
Mumbai’s Culinary Delights
Mumbai feeds the soul as much as it feeds the stomach. I couldn’t resist its legendary street food, where every bite carries a piece of history. Vada pav, pav bhaji, bhel puri, and that steaming cup of cutting chai—each tasted like a story passed from one generation to the next. Pre-independence cafés added another layer of charm, their walls steeped in memory and flavour.
The Lollapalooza India 2026 Experience
And then comes the crown jewel: Lollapalooza India 2026. Set for January 24–25 at the Mahalaxmi Race Course, the lineup is nothing short of electrifying. Linkin Park, Playboi Carti, YUNGBLUD, Kehlani, Knock2, Mother Mother, and homegrown metal powerhouse Bloodywood headline an eclectic mix. With multiple stages, food stalls, and a city’s worth of energy funnelling into one space, it promises to be a weekend etched in memory.
Getting to the Venue
Reaching Mahalaxmi is simple. The suburban railway station is a short ride away, while metro travellers can hop off at Lower Parel and stroll across. Festival hacks? Comfortable shoes are a must, wristbands should be guarded with your life, and black tickets are a gamble not worth taking. Pack light, stay hydrated, and let the music do the rest.
Beyond the Festival: Exploring Mumbai
Mumbai doesn’t stop at music. If you have time, then you should definitely visit Marine Drive – The “Queen’s Necklace” glow at night will make you fall in love with the city. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, a UNESCO heritage location is where you’ll see the real Mumbai, Elephanta Caves reward the curious. That’s not all, the Gateway of India and Juhu Beach tempts with street-side pani puri and pav bhaji.
Art & Culture Stops
For art lovers, Kala Ghoda and Colaba are packed with gems—galleries like Chemould Prescott Road and Chemould CoLab showcase fresh talent. History buffs, meanwhile, can lose hours at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, or dive into textile traditions at the Chanakya School of Craft. Mumbai’s stories live in its corners, waiting for you to stumble upon them.
Shopping
For those who love to shop, Chor Bazaar, Crawford Market, Colaba, and Zaveri Bazaar are a paradise. From antiques and jewellery to spices and snacks, they’re a rabbit hole of discoveries.
Lollapalooza & Mumbai: The Ultimate Combo
Pack light, wear your comfiest shoes, and don’t forget your camera—Linkin Park, Playboi Carti, YUNGBLUD, Kehlani, and more are waiting. But so is Mumbai: a city of history, culture, cinema, and food. For me, this isn’t just a festival. It’s the ultimate Mumbai adventure—a celebration of music and memories that will last a lifetime.

India eyes bigger slice of Philippines’ $2.5 billion rice market with export push

The Philippines has emerged as a critical market for India’s agricultural exports. In 2024, Manila imported farm goods worth nearly $20 billion, including semi-milled rice, wheat and meslin, oilcake, food preparations and palm oil. India’s shipments to the country stood at $413 million, making up just 2% of the Philippines’ total agricultural imports.
Key Indian exports to the Philippines included beef, groundnut, rice and tobacco. Despite being the world’s largest exporter of rice, with overseas sales worth $11.83 billion in 2024-25, India’s rice exports to the Philippines were valued at only $48.91 million during the same period.
“Philippines is the largest importer of rice in the world, with imports in 2024 valued at $2.52 billion. However, there is significant opportunity to expand India’s rice exports in the Philippines as, despite India being the world’s largest rice exporter, India’s rice exports were only $48.91 million to the Philippines in the same period,” the official noted, calling it an untapped opportunity.
To bridge this gap, the commerce ministry is facilitating a delegation of rice exporters, along with those dealing in other potential products such as onions, potatoes, groundnut and meat, to travel to the Philippines in early September. The initiative is expected to strengthen trade linkages and help Indian exporters establish a stronger foothold in the region.
The engagement is set to continue later in the year, with a team of Philippine food importers due to participate in World Food India, scheduled for September 25-28 . They will take part in the International Rice Conference on October 30-31, 2025, billed as the first large-scale trade fair of its kind for the rice sector.
India is also witnessing a surge in agricultural exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Exports to the bloc rose from $480 million in 2023-24 to $628 million in 2024-25, driven largely by stronger trade ties with Russia.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority has played an active role in the growth of India agriculture exports by showcasing Indian produce at international trade events such as World Food Moscow. According to officials, such platforms have been vital in boosting visibility, forging new business partnerships and consolidating India’s presence in the CIS market.

Wimco Nagar received the highest rainfall of 15.7cm during the hour from 11:00pm to midnight on August 30, followed by Korattur with 13.7cm and New Manali Town with 10.3cm during the same period.
Manali receives 27cm of rain
The IMD recorded over 100mm of rainfall in several parts of Chennai.

Heavy rainfall affects air travel
The heavy rainfall in Chennai also affected air travel. Three flights from Frankfurt, Mangaluru, and New Delhi were diverted to Bengaluru as they couldn’t land at the city airport due to the weather conditions.
However, once the weather cleared up in Chennai, passengers were flown back from Bengaluru by different flights.
Weather forecast for Tamil Nadu
The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecasted light to moderate rain in isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal in the next 24 hours.
Strong winds with speeds of 40-50km/h are also likely over these areas.
This weather update comes after a similar pattern was observed on August 23 when several districts, including Chennai, received moderate to heavy overnight rains.
