Royal Jordanian Airlines Launches Direct Flights Between Mumbai and Amman, Strengthening Travel Connectivity

Royal Jordanian Airlines has launched a nonstop flight between Mumbai and Amman, offering a direct and efficient travel connection between India and Jordan. This new route arrives at a time when there is a surge in international travel demand from India, especially to destinations that offer cultural richness and unique experiences.

The nonstop flight to Amman offers Indian travelers an effortless journey to Jordan, and the added benefit of a visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passport holders. This simplified travel option is expected to enhance tourism between the two countries and foster closer ties by making travel more accessible and convenient for both leisure and business travelers.

Amman: The Gateway to Jordan’s Rich Heritage and Natural Beauty

Amman, Jordan’s bustling capital, is a city where modern hospitality coexists harmoniously with its ancient history. Known for its diverse cultural heritage, Amman serves as a perfect starting point for exploring the country’s many attractions that appeal to Indian travelers. Here are a few highlights:

  1. Petra – A Jewel of Ancient Architecture

Petra, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an absolute must-see for tourists. The ancient city, carved into rose-red cliffs, offers a mesmerizing glimpse into Jordan’s history. Visitors can explore the intricate rock-carved structures through guided tours, enjoy scenic hiking routes, or experience Petra by night during one of the cultural evening events that immerse travelers in the mystical atmosphere of this historical marvel.

  1. Wadi Rum – A Desert Adventure

Wadi Rum, commonly called the “Valley of the Moon,” is renowned for its breathtaking desert scenery. Its otherworldly charm draws adventurers from across the globe. Visitors can take jeep safaris to explore the vast desert, stay in traditional Bedouin camps, and even enjoy an unforgettable night under the stars in a bubble hotel. Wadi Rum provides an exceptional combination of adventure, serenity, and cultural experiences that allow travelers to connect with the desert’s timeless appeal.

  1. Aqaba – A Red Sea Gem

For those seeking a coastal retreat, Aqaba, located on the Red Sea, is the perfect destination. Known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, Aqaba is a haven for water sports enthusiasts. The city offers opportunities for scuba diving, snorkeling, and beach activities, as well as wellness retreats designed for relaxation. Aqaba also boasts a range of luxury resorts and spas, making it an ideal spot for those seeking both adventure and relaxation in one destination.

Exploring Emerging Tourism Experiences in Jordan

Jordan continues to diversify its tourism offerings, introducing new experiences that resonate with both adventure and cultural tourism enthusiasts. Among the latest trends is vineyard tourism in Zarqa, where visitors can explore the country’s growing wine industry. Additionally, cultural activities showcasing Jordan’s rich traditions, such as cooking classes and craft workshops, offer an immersive experience for those looking to understand the local culture more deeply.

Opportunities for the Indian Travel Industry

The launch of the Mumbai-Amman direct flight opens up numerous opportunities for travel agents, tour operators, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) planners. Jordan’s diverse offerings of cultural heritage, adventure, and leisure experiences make it an attractive addition to travel portfolios targeting the Indian market. The route is expected to bolster tourism not only to Jordan but also to neighboring Middle Eastern countries, promoting regional travel and cooperation.

The simplicity of travel, enhanced by the visa-on-arrival facility, is likely to appeal to the increasing number of Indian travelers seeking new, culturally rich destinations that offer both historical depth and modern amenities. As the Indian outbound travel market grows, destinations like Jordan, with their blend of tradition, natural beauty, and adventure, are poised to attract a significant share of this expanding market.

Conclusion

Royal Jordanian Airlines has launched a direct Mumbai-Amman flight, enhancing travel connectivity and promoting cultural exchange between India and Jordan. This new route meets the rising demand for international travel, especially to destinations rich in history and unique experiences.

InsideAsia to ‘shake up’ market with launch of India programme

Published

InsideAsia aims to “shake up the market” with the launch of its newest destination: India.

The specialist tour operator – part of Inside Travel Group, together with InsideJapan – is offering 12 “cultural adventures” across six regions and 80 different destinations in India.

Jess Andrews, Inside Travel Group’s South Asia programme manager, joined the company early last year to develop a “standout” India programme.

She has worked with India for almost 20 years with companies such as Ampersand Travel and Abercrombie & Kent.

“India is a sleeping giant. It’s a place of almost endless adventure and diversity which has been so underserviced by the majority of the UK travel industry for many years now,” she said.

“We have set out to shake up the market and offer cultural adventures with our own ‘Inside Travel’ stamp, aiming to represent this vast country and the variety of culture and people that make it so special.”

She said the tours go “way beyond” the ‘Golden Triangle’ to showcase India’s places, culture and people.

Inside Travel Group co-founder Alastair Donnelly added: “India has long been a missing piece of our Asia puzzle.

“This is our first new destination to launch since 2022, and we believe that with India, with our partners on the ground, the people we work across the country and with the cultural adventures we are able to create, we have something incredible.

“We have a team of five India travel specialists, with experience and knowledge from all over the country, but all united by their passion for the country and culture, and knowing what makes travel great.”

India sales and product specialist Brandon Clements joined the team earlier this year after 13 years at A&K as an India specialist.

“Jess and the team have shown that there is a conscious effort to offer something very different to what is already out there on the market,” said Clements.

“The cultural adventures on site are a snippet of what is possible, but they provide inspiration.”

Donnelly added: “As a B Corp that prides itself on using ‘travel as a force for good’, we hope that we can encourage people to explore beyond the usual, get beneath the surface and give back to communities across the country that would benefit from cultural adventure tourism.”
