Google Rolls Out AI Plus to Rival ChatGPT Go

Published

on

Google has introduced Google AI Plus, a new subscription plan aimed at making its AI tools more affordable and accessible, with Indonesia becoming the first country in the world to get access.

The AI Plus plan offers a mix of productivity and creativity tools, including access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, the company’s most advanced model, as well as NotebookLM features for faster insights and document summaries. The package is priced at Rp 75,000 per month (~₹400), with a limited-time 50% discount for the first six months for new subscribers.

This comes shortly after OpenAI launched a ChatGPT Go subscription for Indian users at ₹399 per month, aiming to make the chatbot affordable to the masses.

Google said AI Plus is designed to help a wide range of users, from students tackling research projects to professionals managing their daily tasks. The plan integrates Gemini directly into Google’s apps such as Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, enabling faster drafting, analysis and project organisation.

On the creative side, AI Plus includes access to Google’s Veo 3 Fast video generation model, along with tools like Whisk and Flow for image and AI filmmaking. Subscribers also receive 200 GB of cloud storage, which can be shared with up to five family members.

“This new plan opens up more access to powerful AI tools to level up your productivity and creativity—all at an accessible price. And we are especially excited to share that Indonesia is the first country in the world to get access to this new plan,” the company said in the announcement post.

The launch underscores Google’s focus on Southeast Asia as a key market for AI adoption. By rolling out AI Plus in Indonesia first, the company is positioning the country as a testbed for expanding its AI-powered subscription services globally.
